LOI

Our Letter of Intent (LOI) was transmitted to China today. We were delayed a little due to a trip and then the 4th of July holiday, but this document informs China of our wish to adopt Audrey and our plans to care for her when we return. Timeline for travel should be late October. We have to wait for China to approve this match (RA) and then once that is received we wait a couple more weeks for travel approval (TA).

We received a call from AWAA this afternoon and they have a 10 month old little girl with a congential heart defect (ASD/VSD). We received her file on line and I tracked down Tom at work and we looked at our new daughter. She is amazing and beautiful and of course we said yes. We are thrilled beyond belief.

We didn't think when we started, we would have to be redoing paperwork, but the timeframe for adoption has consistantly been increasing. At this time the wait is approximately 20-22 months and that will probably increase. We now have to update our home study.

They are all "Special"

We have decided to add our name the interested family list at our adoption agency. Every 3 or 4 months they receive referrals for Special Needs (SN) children and they match them to families on the list.

After 4 1/2 months of compiling our dossier paperwork, numerous appointments, many Fed-ex shipments, a couple trips to the US State Deptartment and Chinese Consulte we did it. As we speak, our dossier is being sent to China. For the moment we can sit back and relax. We now just wait for China to tell us we are loggin into their system.
